My Two Week Keto Diet Journal – Day Two

My Keto Macros Plan

Daily target macros:

Calories – 1600

Fat – 124 grams

Protein – 70 grams

Carbs – 50 grams

Keto Weight Loss Tracker

Starting weight – 181.4

Today’s weight – 180.6

Total Weight loss – .8 lbs

Wow, I can’t believe I’ve already lost weight. Stepping on the scale this morning and seeing the lower number was a nice surprise.

Of course, it’s mostly water weight. In fact, I’m losing a lot of water, which happens on the keto diet. As your body uses up glycogen stores, which contain a lot of water, you urinate more. Bye-bye water retention. I won’t miss ya!

My Keto Food Diary – Day Two

Breakfast – Six slices of thick cut bacon; coffee with Califia Farms Creamer and liquid monkfruit sweetener

Lunch – 80/20 burger patty, spinach and mushrooms sauted in butter (leftovers from yesterday’s lunch), sharp cheddar cheese, avocado oil

Dinner – Creamy Low Carb Pork Chops, stir fry veggie mix

Snack – pecans, more coffee with almond milk creamer and liquid monk fruit

Actual Macros

I decided to use SparkPeople to track my macros for these two weeks on keto. Here’s what today looked like. I’ve got a little tweaking to do.

Calories – 1549

Fat – 134g

Protein – 67g

Carbs – 14g

How I Feel on Day Two of Keto

I feel good today. Honestly, I’m worried about getting the dreaded keto flu, but so far I feel pretty normal.

I still miss coconut sugar in my coffee terribly. It’s just not the same experience. And yet, I had a second cup of coffee today for the first time in years. I’ve already decided that the first thing I’ll have when I’m done with this two weeks of keto is a cup of coffee with coconut sugar.

Yep, I’m a sugar addict. Hopefully by the end of these two weeks I’ll feel differently about coconut sugar in my coffee.
